Hiking

Gear that actually works, and the legs to carry it.

I'm Jack. I test kit over full routes in bad weather and tell you what I'd buy again — and as a physio, what to do so your body lasts the distance too.

The buy-again list

Kit I'd replace the same day it broke.

A stricter test than "good product" — the pieces I'd buy again tomorrow without thinking about it.

About Jack

A physio who got tired of bad hiking advice.

I spent years as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist before I started walking long routes myself — and found the hiking internet full of confident nonsense. Spec sheets treated as evidence, sponsored gear called honest, and almost nothing about the body doing the carrying.

So I started making the videos I wanted to watch: kit tested in real conditions, and preparation grounded in something more than opinion.

The newsletter

One email, most weeks.

Gear that earned its place in my pack, training that holds up over long days, and what's coming next on the channel. No lead magnet and no seventeen-part funnel.
